She doesn't even know she's a witch, descended from a long line of witches. Cait Weerd doesn't know a lot, really, but all that's about to change.

At Manchester Central Library she's caught up in sudden violence. In the chaos she's given an old book that's been hidden there. Given it and told to run. Hide the book or destroy it. The book contains all the secrets of the undain's existence. They and their human servants want to find it as much as they want to find her.

Cait learns the fates of two worlds are at stake. Just what she needs. Along with definitely-not-a-boyfriend Danny, she has to decide what the hell to do. Run, fight or hope it all goes away.

It's only then she learns who she really is, along with the terrile truth of what the udain have been doing in our world all this time...

*My Thoughts*
Hedge Witch was definitely an enjoyable and exciting read! I was already intrigued by the synopsis that I just had to read it! Filled with action, mystery, suspense, and magic, I was fascinated with this unique story. Although it was a bit slow in the beginning (for me, anyways), learning about the characters and two worlds, the book's pace picked up as these characters embarked on this action-filled and thrilling adventure. Being that the story takes place in the UK which was pretty interesting...since I have never traveled over to the UK (maybe someday). It was fun to learn the different terminology used for things like truck (in the UK, a truck or large motor vehicle transporting goods or troops is a lorry) which was very enlightening. So, yah, I pretty much learned of a few words used in the UK which isn't used in the U.S....interesting!

With the descriptive writing of the author, he was successfully transported me to the UK and this other fantasy world via my imagination...whoa! I found myself curious and questioning the connection with these two worlds. As the storyline unraveled, more of the mystery was revealed. Simon Kewin wrote with amazing flair of bring the characters and worlds to life. Despite all the dangers, Simon's characters embarked and endured their plight in trying to save both worlds. And, of course, the book comes to end....with a CLIFFHANGER! Yes! We are left, after all the intrigue and suspense of the story, Simon Kewin left it with a cliffhanger...REALLY!!?!! The suspense is killer! Now, I have to read the next book to find out what happens to our adventurous characters trying to save not one, but two worlds!

All in all, Hedge Witch will take you on a suspenseful and thrilling adventure of magic, danger and travel as our characters race against time to save two worlds!
