Those words echo in my head, pinging around like a pinball. You’re safe with me. And I know that I am. Kane won’t let anything happen to me. I am totally taken care of, so I do what he says and close my eyes to sleep.
Kane has it covered here. Tomorrow will be better.
I can only hope.
Too bad I would only find out how very wrong I was . . .
