JASMINE's THOUGHTS on Constantine Season 1 Episode 5 "Danse Vadou"

About the Show
Based on the wildly popular comic book series Hellblazer from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan, "Criminal Minds") is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. He fights the good fight - or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he's decided to abandon his campaign against evil until a series of events thrusts him back into the fray, and he'll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line‎, Constantine will use his skills to travel the country, find the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows... maybe there's hope for him and his soul after all.
The cast also includes Harold Perrineau (Lost) as Manny and Charles Halford (True Detective) as Chas.Writer Daniel Cerone (The Mentalist, Dexter) serves as executive producer with David S. Goyer (Man of SteelThe Dark Knight Rises). Constantine is produced from Bonanza Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The show is based upon characters published by DC Entertainment.

*My Thoughts*

Well, the latest episode is definitely upping the ante on Constantine. John Constantine and others are off on to another case. This time we got to see more of Chas and Zed. We even got a little hint about Zed's mystery. Plus, we got to see a bit of Chas' ability to "heal". I'm getting the distinct impression that Chas is immortal!?! Haha! Would definitely need to know the back story on him. I would definitely like to know why he sticks around Constantine. Plus, what is Zed's connection to the supernatural and John. Hmmm...yeah, there's a lot about these two characters that is still a mystery and is definitely fascinating to find out. I'm definitely enjoying the love/hate association between Constantine and Papa Midnite.

The show continues to up the ante on the mystical and the mystery. And, I'm loving it! With each episode, more "hints" of the subplots continue to be revealed tying each "case" John and friends continue to investigate. The mystery and suspense of these subplots...the rising darkness, Zed's past, Chas' immortality and relationship with John, and (just recently, in this episode) Zed's vision of Corrigan...what does it mean!?! Hmmm...So many elements to this show that's just driving my curiosity! These are all connected in one way or the other. How about that ominous message from Papa Midnite's sister!?! Whoa!

All in all, this episode has created a compelling occult mystery of what is yet to come that is definitely worth finding out. Hopefully, the series continues to up the ante on the storylines.

This is definitely a TV series that is a must see! Yeah, this is fast becoming a favorite show of mine!
