BLOG TOUR: Perfectly Messy by Lizzy Charles

Welcome to the Official Blog Tour for Perfectly Messy by Lizzy Charles!

Genre:
New Adult Contemporary Romance
Publish Date:
May 27, 2014
Publisher:
Swoon Romance

Summary from Goodreads:
Popularity isn't everything it's cracked up to be. Justin Marshall knows this better than most. For the captain of the basketball team, small business owner, and son of Minnesota's next governor, life can get pretty overwhelming. But Justin can handle anything as long as he has Lucy, the girl who fell for the man he’s trying to be.

But for Justin and Lucy, finding time together proves challenging. Stolen kisses and whispered promises just aren't enough. That is, until scandalous photos of the couple are leaked to a press intent on creating a juicy scandal during Justin's dad's gubernatorial campaign. And when Lucy becomes fair play for the tabloids and gossip pages, Justin does the only thing he can to protect her: he breaks her heart.

For Lucy, junior year is everything she hoped it would be: new friends, second chances, and a boyfriend she can’t stop kissing. That is, until the boy she’s pretty sure she loves chooses the life his family wants for him, over her.

Now it’s up to Lucy to teach him what it really means to have everything. Because for Justin, being who everyone needs him to be just might cost him the one person he can’t live without.

*Lizzy Charles' Playlist*
I’m pumped to be here to share all about the inspirational music behind my writing. AKA- The Official Perfectly Messy Playlist (You know it's official because it's titled Justin/Lucy 2!).
Perfectly Messy PlayList
I love this mix of music. We've got Chocolate and That Girl that jives with friendship and joyriding. Basically, when everything feels perfect (intentional title reference ;-)).
feel good
Then we've got the drama from Hayloft (my favorite song on this list) and some Chance The Rapper (This guy is amazing!) There's a nice cello suite for that moment of peace that both Justin and Lucy seek with one another. We've also got songs like Ends of the Earth that helped inspire a new character, Ian! Ian's a hunky musician who's homeschooled and always seems to have the write words to offer in times of need.
Then we have the music that reflected what I went through as I wrote and edited Perfectly Messy: Where Is Love Now, Get on The Road, and again Suite for Solo Cello No.1 (Fun Fact: I was a cellist in high school!). These are songs that brought me to my knees and helped me channel that emotion into Perfectly Messy. Writers block
I love, love, LOVE this playlist! Please check out these songs. They bring you on the journey with Justin, Lucy, and Ian through Perfectly Messy. Enjoy!

**About the Author**
Lizzy Charles graduated from the University of Minnesota, where she crammed children's literature and creative writing courses into her vigorous nursing degree schedule. With a background in health, she writes about childhood health and development as her contribution to a popular MN public policy blog.

Writing is the beautiful secret hidden in the pages of Lizzy's soul. When she's not scrambling to raise her spunky toddlers or caring for premature and sick babies as a neonatal intensive care nurse, she's in a quiet corner writing or snuggled up with her favorite novel, Pride and Prejudice.

Lizzy Charles caught the writing bug in first grade and hasn't stopped jotting plot lines since. She married her high school sweetheart, a heart-melting musician, so it's no surprise she's fallen in love with writing contemporary Young Adult romance novels.

Lizzy can be found on her blog or sneaking into her cupboards to grab just one more square of dark chocolate.
