Based on Cassandra Clare's Young Adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments, Shadowhunters follows Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinkgs she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters, human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires, and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.
Although the series has come into its own away from the books, I think it has created a life of its own. Okay, it's not exactly following the books page by page, but I feel that it still is faithful to the story and characters that Cassandra Clare has created.
The cast and crew has progressed since the first season. And, I am liking the direction this series is going. Yes, it is not exactly following the books, but since when does a movie and/or television series follows the books...exactly. Various subplots have been revealed, and are tied in with each other. So, a lot has happened in this second season giving viewers a definite taste of the Shadowhunter world.
Overall, the characters and setting still is true to the books. Once you stop comparing the series to the books, you will enjoy this television series. The show is filled with it share of drama, action, suspense, adventure, and character angst.
Opening an entirely new chapter in the iconic franchise, Season Two of The Exorcist premieres Friday, September 29 (9:00 - 10:00 PM PT/ET), where FATHER TOMAS ORTEGA (Alfonso Herrera) and a newly collarless MARCUS KEANE (Ben Daniels) out of Chicago and on the road, searching out evil. Across the Atlantic, FATHER BENNETT (Kurt Egyiawan) attempts to weed out those within the Vatican who have turned against God. Ultimately, Tomas and Marcus are led to ANDREW KIM (John Cho), a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew’s care is targeted by a powerful force, the two priests head west, setting themselves on a collision course with Hell.
The Exorcist is from Morgan Creek Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series was created by Jeremy Slater (“Fantastic Four”). The series is executive-produced by Slater, Emmy Award nominee Rolin Jones (“Friday Night Lights,” “Weeds”), Rupert Wyatt, Roy Lee (“Hidden,” “Run All Night”) James Robinson (“Dream House”), David Robinson (“Dream House,” “The Good Shepherd”) and Barbara Wall (“Boss”). Wyatt also served as director on the pilot.
I am blown away at how good this second season was! Seriouslly!!! This second season follows Father Tomas and Marcus Keane, who is no longer a priest, on the road. It's tough being an exorcist... Right?!? They have to be absolutely sure that the person in question is possessed. Well, that's where this second season takes us. While they do come across legitimate cases, there are others that are not. Anyways, it seems that Father Tomas and Marcus path are connected in many ways. While they are fighting evil, Father Bennett and Mouse are also fighting at the other end of the world.
Since Season 1, we already got the idea that the Vatican has already been compromised. Moreover, we see that in Season 2, the situation is more dire than what we thought since Season 1. The flow from Season 1 and Season 2 was well done. They are on the road from Chicago after the events with the Rance family. They encounter other possessions. Father Tomas has an unusual gift. Whoa! We are getting deep into the paranormal/supernatural realm... Right!?! Love it! It just adds to the mysticism and mystery of it all. Definitely has that horror feel to it, too, just like the movie...haha!! I really love how the series pays homage to the film, too! If you have watched and remembered the film(s), including the subsequent sequel films, then you would caught...I guess... we can call it "easter eggs" in a few scenes...Haha! Sure brought back memories of watching those movies.
So... A lot has happened since the start of this second season. More or less, they are losing this fight with demons. Marcus is doubting himself and feels lost and discouraged. Father Tomas is embracing his gift. Mouse has now joined the fight with Father Tomas. They may have lost Father Bennett... Has he been integrated?!? Say it ain't so!!! Andy makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his family. Marcus needs to find some kind of clarity/purpose... Has he found it with the help of the voice of God?!? Will Marcus be back for the fight?!? Where will the fight take them now?!?
Ugh!!! Well, we won't know until the next season!!! Right?!? Cliffhangers... It's a love/hate relationship...Hahaha!!! Now, this series has been up in the air on this whole renew/cancel rollercoaster, but I hope the series comes and continues. The series has so much potential, especially with the various stories that can be told. I would seriously be crushed if this series does not come back. And, I know that I am not the only one who wants this series to come back for a Season 3, Season 4, so on and so forth... Right?!?
Supergirl is an action-adventure drama based on the DC character Kara Zor-El, Superman's (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents' help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret.
Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. She works alongside her friend and IT tehcnician Winn Schott and famous photographer James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. However Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats.
Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime.
Ok... This second season was amazing! So much more has developed since Season 1! Season 1 set up the world and its characters and all the ups and downs that Kara dealt with as she figured out who Supergirl is while protecting National City, but now, this Season 2 they have gone beyond the stars! Yup! Melissa Benoist does an amazing job at bringing this comic book hero to life! I love how much all these characters have evolved after all that has happened since Season 1. Anyways, I really loved Superman's introduction into the series! It was great! It was about time that these cousins got together, even helped each other out.
So, in Season 1, Supergirl/Kara dealt mostly with villains of earth while dealing with her confusion of who she is and wants to be. Moreover, this Season 2 has expanded this world to beyond the stars. Familiar characters, heroes and villains, are revealed into the series...even those from beyond the stars. I loved the development of the romances with a few of these characters. A lot of these relationships incorporated many real life relationship issues people deal with all the time. Not only that, the show tackled very real and hard issues in the world... They just added the science fiction and fantasy elements to it.
The series is just getting better and better. Plus, it is pretty cool to see some crossovers with other DC shows! The show has definitely progressed since Season 1. All the plots and subplots flow and are intertwined with each other bringing the story together... Well, that's what I think. I'm no expert...haha!!! And, that finale was action-packed and emotional. Whoa! So, yeah, I am squee-ing like a fangirl... Well, I am! 😊 Other than that, the series has continued to entertain me and has brought a cool comic book superhero to life. And, of course, I love the casting! I am so looking forward to Season 3. So, for now, take a look at the Season 3 Comic-Con 2017 trailer!

Plot Summary:
For centuries, humanity has been hunted by giant, mysterious predators known as the Titans. Three mighty walls—Wall Maria, Rose, and Sheena—provided peace and protection for humanity for over a hundred years. That peace, however, was shattered when the Colossus Titan and Armored Titan appeared and destroyed the outermost wall, Wall Maria. Forced to retreat behind Wall Rose, humanity waited with bated breath for the Titans to reappear and destroy their safe haven once more.
In Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2, Eren Yeager and others of the 104th Training Corps have just begun to become full members of the Survey Corps. As they ready themselves to face the Titans once again, their preparations are interrupted by the invasion of Wall Rose—but all is not as it seems as more mysteries are unraveled. As the Survey Corps races to save the wall, they uncover more about the invading Titans and the dark secrets of their own members.
Shingeki no Kyojin, in English known as Attack on Titan, is an anime and manga of the same name and has just finished airing its second season. The first season didn’t leave me with any long-lasting impressions, other than the pretty graphics and art style. It isn’t until I was encouraged to watch season 2 that my interest rose to a fine peak but first a brief commentary of season 1. Season 1 left the impression of another simple shounen anime wherein the main protagonist, Eren Jeager, becomes a part of the Survery Corps and gains numerous power ups. The designated heroine, Mikasa Ackerman, is someone of interest and arguably someone to look up to as a soldier but as a normal person she has a one-track mind focused on Eren, his survival, and a strongly hinted romantic interest. The assumption of Eren being a stereotypical shounen protagonist wasn’t necessarily wrong but season 2 delves deeper into the rabbit hole. Season 2 continues where season 1 left a large cliffhanger. While the characters are a bit placid in development there are exceptions such as Reiner Braun, Krista Lenz/Historia Reiss, Annie Leonhart, Bertholdt Hoover, and Ymir.
The plot thickens as we, the viewer, learn more about the Walls (Maria, Rose, and Sheena), the spies that have infiltrated the Survey Corps and with the appearance of a Beast Titan with human comparable intellect the necessity to find out what lies outside of the Walls becomes greater. Life inside the Walls is stagnant and suffocating because humanity is trapped in fear by titans but in season 2 we learn there is an outside world in which Reiner, Berthholdt, Annie, and Ymir were a part of. Attack on Titan becomes more than just a dystopian, fighting anime and manga where humanity cowers in the corner with a knife in its hand. Reiner is the Armored Titan, Bertholdt is the Colossus Titan, we should already know Annie is the Female Titan, and Ymir is a Titan. The three aforementioned characters have their own joined agenda for being in the Walls while Ymir is fixated on Krista, real name Historia. Each of them have a mysterious past that is waiting to be revealed, although Ymir’s past was explored. Never mind “what’s in Eren’s basement” anymore.
There are still mysteries to be unfolded and season 2 ends with Ymir, Bertholdt, and Reiner escaping to the fallen Wall Maria and Eren vowing to become useful to humanity with his titan powers. While season 1 felt stagnant, season 2 makes me curious about the events that will unfold in season 3 which is scheduled for a 2018 release.
Based upon the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo, from DC Entertainment, Lucifer is the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles, where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) to take down criminals.
Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, Lucifer has a way of manipulating people into confessing their deepest, darkest secrets, which helps Chloe deliver justice. But Lucifer quickly discovered that Chloe makes him vulnerable. When he's around her, the devil can bleed like anyone else. It's a truly scary realization that doesn't sit well with his best friend, Mazikeen aka Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt), a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman. Maze wants nothing more than to leave Los Angeles and get back to her life in Hell, but Lucifer is having one helluva good time with the mortals, and she is not about to leave him behind.
At the end of Season One, Chloe watched Lucifer die, only to come back to life, causing more confusion over who he really is. Meanwhile, her estranged husband, Dan (Kevin Alejandro), who is also an LAPD detective, came clean about his involvement in a corrupt case - jeopardizing not only his job, but also their relationship.
In Season Two, Lucifer and his brother, Amenadiel (DB Woodside), who have been sparring over Lucifer's resistance to returning to the underworld, will now be brought back together for one common goal - to find their mother, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer, Battlestar Galactica), who escaped Hell. After all, Lucifer doesn't take after his dad, so the parent he does resemble is sure to be quite terrifying. Lucifer's work with the LAPD also is upended when the police force hires Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia, The George Lopez Show), a smart, tough forensic scientist whose mutual belief in both faith and science proves a point of interest to Lucifer.
With mom on the loose, Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris), who has become not only a therapist, but also a confidante to Lucifer, will surely have a lot of advice to dole out. And, by the time she's done with them, she may need a therapist of her own.
OMG!! These characters definitely does not run out of their dysfunctional family antics to say the least. This second half of Season Two dives heavily into the "goddess'" adjustment into human life and her dire need to return to heaven. Of course, two of her children, namely Lucifer and Amenadiel, are charged in watching over her...and, to keep her out of trouble. However, trouble seems to just find them...all...haha!!!
The cast is hilarious! Their chemistry works! They each deal with their individual conflicts. Lucifer has come a long way since Season One. He's becoming more human every "day" he is on Earth. Everyone around him has a lot to do with that, too. Love it! Yup! Even Maze has gotten attached to these humans...lol! Oh my! How humanity affects these supernatural beings!!! One has got to keep watching to see how much these characters have evolved/grown since the start!
Whoa! Didn't see that coming....the Season finale, that is!!! LOL! Wow! Great!! Now, we have to wait til next Fall to find out what that finale means...especially for Lucifer. Say what...!?!
AMC's Fear the Walking Dead returns at sea, aboard the Abigail. The group is unaware of the true breadth of the apocalypse; they assume there still a chance that some city, state, or nation might be unaffected, some place where infection has not hit. Abandoning land, Madison, Travis and Daniel gather their grieving families for ports unknown. But the respite of Strand's ocean-side home is short-lived. They will discover that the water may be no safer than land.

Well, it looks like everyone is losing it...one way or another. Daniel, for one, is seeing things. Didn't realize how religious he is. He doesn't show it, but, in this episode, in the midst of superstition with all the people the compound, it is apparent that Daniel does believe it to some level. Then, there is Chris...he's very troubled, especially since witnessing so much death. Wouldn't it mentally mess you up if someone asked you to kill him or her to end their suffering?!? It would bother me, especially if that person is looking straight at me. I don't think that airline passenger has ever left his mind. Yup! Chris is lashing out... Then, there's Nick! He's all out gone... I don't know. He's already believing Celia in regards to the dead. Nick's also gone "invincible" in regards to walking among the dead. Yeah, he's got his own "demons" to deal with; and it seems like he's reaching out to Celia for answers.
I don't know!!! Daniel is hearing things! Now, he's seeing his dead wife. Uhhh...yeah! He's losing it alright. But, then again, if you had that much "ghosts" haunting you...wouldn't you lose it, too!?!
As for Strand, he is grieving! Although Celia and everyone else shuns him for not committing suicide, Strand is definitely a survivor.
Poor Travis is in the middle of all this family drama, but, in the end, he has to help his son. It's about time!!! He was so intent on helping Madison all the time that he was pretty much blind to Chris's needs. For goodness sake, Chris lost his mother! Chris witnessed a lot of death. Travis realizes he has to stay with his son and help him. He decides not to go back to the compound. It's about time that he put Chris first. Talk about dysfunctional family...haha! Nick returns to the compound and tells Madison that he didn't find them.
And wow...the people in the compound look towards Celia for guidance and leadership. But, superstition seems to run the place. Even Nick succumbs to that way. He even brought Luis, Celia's son, back to the compound. That's just very disturbing. O-kay now! It is also disturbing that Nick relishes covering himself with the blood of the dead. Ummm...something to worry about? I don't know... I one point, I wanted to slap Nick upside the head...haha!
Did Madison just trick Celia?!? Sure looks like it. Convince Celia that she wants to understand. Celia takes Madison to the cellar to show her and explain to her about the dead. Then, when Celia isn't looking, Madison looks the cellar "door" behind her. But...Celia shows no fear.
Then...Daniel gets free, after having a conversation with his dead wife, and heads to the cellar. He pours gasoline and sets it on fire. All the while, he just stands in the middle of the blaze while the dead comes towards him. However, where is Celia!?! She was locked in that same cellar! Now, the whole compound is ablaze. Who will survive this fire?
We see Strand, Ofelia, Alicia, and Madison leaving in the truck. Nick refuses to leave with them; moreover, he is angry with Madison and decides to continue walking with the dead. Travis and Chris goes off on their own...to where, we don't know.
Definitely, a complicated episode! A lot of open-ended storylines for these complicated characters. What will happen next for this group. Will they come back together? Or will they each come to their end by the dead? We will have to wait when the show returns for the second half of the season!
