*My Thoughts*

Although the series has come into its own away from the books, I think it has created a life of its own. Okay, it's not exactly following the books page by page, but I feel that it still is faithful to the story and characters that Cassandra Clare has created.

The cast and crew has progressed since the first season. And, I am liking the direction this series is going. Yes, it is not exactly following the books, but since when does a movie and/or television series follows the books...exactly. Various subplots have been revealed, and are tied in with each other. So, a lot has happened in this second season giving viewers a definite taste of the Shadowhunter world.

Overall, the characters and setting still is true to the books. Once you stop comparing the series to the books, you will enjoy this television series. The show is filled with it share of drama, action, suspense, adventure, and character angst.

Until the next season Shadowhunters!

Excited for Season 3!!!

Meanwhile, Alec must deal with the aftermath of his decision and what his choice means for his future.

*My Thoughts*

Well...that was an interesting finale for the first season of Shadowhunters. A lot has happened, just in this episode alone. This finale pretty much tied up this first season together. The one thing they dreaded has happened... Valentine has the Mortal Cup. Jace's confusion and emotional state regarding Valentine has got him in an identity crisis. However, Clary isn't giving up on helping Jace get through this. Jace is just lost; he needs to figure out who he really is. This is definitely a struggle that Clary and Jace will have to overcome and get through.

Our favorite shadowhunters definitely have trouble coming. Valentine has got an army of new shadowhunters at his disposal. What will the Clave do now...now that Valentine has the Mortal Cup. Plus, Jocelyn is finally awake! Maybe now, Jocelyn can shed some light on Valentine, his plans, and Clary's memories. Yeah, there's a lot of questions that needs answers in...and Jocelyn may have those answers they need.

Alec and Magnus has a bumpy road ahead of them as they explore this relationship. Good for Alec in facing his Maryse regarding his choices. Found it interesting that Maryse wasn't so much as bothered that Alec chose a man...but she was more bothered that Alec chose Magnus...haha! Hmmm...is there hope that the Lightwood parents will accept Alec's choices?!?

Tensions rise between the shadowhunters and the vampires, especially since they did free Camille from her prison. Well, now that she's out, we may be seeing more of her...?!? She's an interesting and fun character. Camille, just like Magnus, can bring some history into the series...they are, after all, immortal....hahaha!

This first season has not come to the end, I can actually say that this season was a good beginning into this series. And now, we are left with somewhat of a cliffhanger...haha! Shadowhunters and downworlders alike have major threat coming their way with Valentine and his army.

Although the start was pretty uncertain, story and character development was gradually improving with each episode. Great character development. Well thought out world-building and storylines. Yes, the series went off away from the book series, but this is an adaptation. The direction of the television series stayed pretty close to the book, but then took on a life of its own. I am definitely looking forward to more seasons. I hope others are as well.

Until the next season Shadowhunters!

Last moments from the Season 1 finale!

Episode Synopsis:
The Institute is in full swing as everyone is preparing for the wedding of Alec and Lydia. Lydia is getting final touches made on her wedding dress, the wedding decorations are set and Isabelle is trying to figure out a  way to throw a traditional, mundane bachelor party for her brother – whether he likes it or not. During what should be a time of great celebration for many is far from it as they examine their relationships. Alec is struggling on two sides – his wedding is one of the biggest days in his life and his parabatai should be at his side, yet he and Jace are still at odds. Alec also continues to struggle with his feelings for Magnus, especially when Magnus won't give up on Alec. And as the Institute is buzzing with romance, Clary is desperate to work things out with Jace, but he is keeping her at arm's length.

~~~~~
*My Thoughts*
Oh I know this wedding has gotten a lot of Malec shippers up in arms...haha! Well...I'm one of those shippers not happy with this whole situation. But then again, there's always a plot twist that makes for a good drama. In the meantime, Jace is conflicted and confused since the revelation that Valentine is his father!?! So glad that the show is staying true with this plot twist. Well, it makes for interesting complications between Clary and Jace.
Clary worries for her mother; Magnus tries to convince Alec to follow his heart; Valentine continues to be a threat. How did Valentine know where Clary, Jace, and Magnus go? Suspicions are a buzz as to who could it be... There is a traitor among them!?!
Will Alec go through with the wedding? Or will he choose Magnus? That was an intense moment... Whoa! I am sure every Malec shipper watching was ecstatic and overjoyed to see their first kiss...lol! Although Alec made his choice, he is still unsure of himself. Alec just has to explore to figure out if he made the right decision. We all know that choosing Magnus was the right decision...haha! Wow...gotta hand it to Lydia for taking it well. But then again, she already knew how Alec felt...about Magnus.
After each episode, the subtle changes, made away from the book, seems to come together in its own direction. However, the series does make for an interesting adaptation of this popular book series. I can see that fans with their reservations about the show will undoubtedly fall in love with the series, too.
Well, that's all for now, until the next episode Shadowhunters!
While she realizes that his dimension is the life she always dreamed of, Clary must act fast or she will lose herself i the alternative world forever.
Meanwhile, Alec and Isabelle must face the consequences of the Downworlder attack.
~~~~~

*My Thoughts*

Ummm....Say whaaat!?! This was an interesting episode. Closing some open subplots and further diving into other subplots. The alternate timeline was interesting and fascinating which it gave us a view of a totally opposite world without Shadowhunters.

It has been pretty apparent that the series has moved away from the book. Like an "alternate timeline"... haha, character storylines have been altered to fit the direction the series is going, especially at the end of the episode. This will be very curious to see where the screenwriters are going with this. As I finished watching this episode, various theories ran through my mind. It did seem too easy that Clary and Jace fall into Valentine's hideout...and no one is there...except....you know! That is...if you watched the episode.

However, I am somewhat torn with how they are writing and portraying the whole "parabatai bond" between Jace and Alec. It does have that torn and dramatic flair to it, but...really...OMG...Will they get passed this!?! I know that the show is moving away from the books, but their parabatai bond has such an important influence in the books, I just hope that they are just writing obstacles that will test that. But, that bond is showing a lot of strain. Moreover, I am very impressed at how headstrong Isabelle has become. I am very interested in what will happen to her in the next episode. What will happen to her at the trial?!?

Well, I am still processing the events in this episode. I may have to watch it again...haha! But, I definitely can say that these events have definitely sparked my curiosity on what will happen next. Even the promo preview for the next episode just intensifies my curiosity.

Well, that's all for now, until the next episode Shadowhunters!

Here's a look at the promo preview Episode 11 - "Blood Calls to Blood"

Episode Synopsis:
After the attack, the Institute and The Clave are on high alert and taking no prisoners to get answers. When Lydia makes a harsh call on the Seelies, Jace, Clary and Isabelle fear that this decision could be disastrous and the wrong way to defeat Valentine. Left with no other choice, the trio takes drastic actions to stop what is about to take place.

Meanwhile, Simon struggles to deal with his new situation, and Alec is emotionally torn with what is happening at the Institute.

~~~~~
*My Thoughts*
Clary is definitely torn with her decision to "save" Simon. Simon has a major adjustment to deal with since being turned into a vampire. Alec seems to be torn internally with the decisions he has to make, especially since finding out the truth about his parents and the choices he has to make since being attacked at the Institute by a Forsaken. It gets even more complicated with Lydia Branwell running things at the Institute.
Alec and Lydia...getting married!?! No!!! There is a twister here...there has to be. Why mess with us "Malec" shippers...haha!! I don't know... Alec's decisions is totally conflicted between his duty as a Shadowhunter and his heart. Even Alec's parabatai relationship with Jace is at odds. For the who's supposed to have a "level head on his shoulders," is showing vulnerability...he's "cracked under pressure." However, Isabelle is stepping up to the responsibility.
Jace, Clary, and Isabelle working together to stop Lydia and Alec's harsh decision(s) with dealing with Downworlders. Looks like it is a good thing that Clary has entered the Shadowhunter world. With this impending danger with Valentine, she has brought the Downworlders together to help each other fight a common enemy. She is definitely leading with her heart.
Differences has to be put aside, if Shadowhunters and Downworlders alike have to fight a common enemy. With the elements of the paranormal, fantasy, and "secret ops" theme, the show is coming together on its own, away from the books. The various subplots have cohesive storylines that intersect each other meticulously in which ties to the major story in this series. I can only speak for myself, even with my doubts, the show is winning me over after each episode.
Well, that's all for now, until the next episode Shadowhunters!
Meanwhile, Clary is faced with a devastating decision.
~~~~~

*My Thoughts*

Yup! The show is progressing on its own. Although there are similarities to the book series, the show itself has taken off in its own direction. The world building is progressing. As for character development, it is progressing. With the changes from the book to the series, I can see why and where the changes take place. The series itself has a cohesive flow in the storyline which works on screen, especially with that "covert ops" theme. The pace is pretty quick compared to the book; however, it works. I can't say if I hate it or love it...yet, until this season concludes.

At least the series is incorporating parts of the book series in to show. I have noticed...haha! That I am enjoying...to see parts of a favorite book series worked into these storylines. Plus, it works. It helps with character development and the progressing plot(s) and subplot(s).

Whether the series has captured the hearts of book fans and more or deterred them from watching the show, we will have to see. As for me, I am liking the direction the series is going with this; however, some of the changes needs some time/episodes getting used to. Quite honestly, I hope the show is successful enough to get renewed for a second season. This is a world worth exploring.

Well, that's all for now, until the next episode Shadowhunters!

Episode Synopsis:
With Luke in dire need of help, Jace, Clary and Simon take him to Magnus' lair in hopes of saving his life. Once there, the story of how Valentine came to be evill, and Jocelyn and Luke's past is revealed to Clary in hopes of triggering her memory of what happened to The Mortal Cup.

Meanwhile, Isabelle and Alec are tasked to restore their family name in the eyes of The Clave.

~~~~~
*My Thoughts*
Well, this episode gave viewers a bit of history into Clary's family history. While they try to save Luke's life, the Lightwoods seem to be under scrutiny by The Clave; hence, the visit by the parents. Uh oh...what does that mean for Alec and Isabelle?!?
This episode seems to focus on family history in which viewers get a more deeper character development of each of their personalities...and why. Seems that Luke knows more than what Clary has learned so far. We find out how Luke became a werewolf, and how Jocelyn and Luke's relationship developed. As Luke reveals to Clary details of their history, she's puts the pieces together and figures out where the Mortal Cup is hidden. Hmmm...
Family drama seems to have taken hold with the Lightwoods. What is it that has Alec and Isabelle's parents all worked up?!? Alec and Isabelle has been given an "ultimatum" in order to save the family honor?!? What is so dire that Alec and Isabelle must do their duty for the family?
It is apparent that Alec is confused, especially with his attraction to Magnus. The development between the two is too darling! Magnus is being coy (as he puts it), and Alec, well, he's got all that pent up feelings.
As for Simon...he's more confused with every moment he feels the "change" happen to him. He seems to have an idea, but he's even more confused about it. I wonder how long it will be until everyone else notices that he's transitioning into vampire!?!
More and more is happening as the search for this Mortal Cup continues. Tensions between the Shadowhunters and the Downworlders continually increases as the threat of Valentine intensifies.
Well, that's all for now, until the next episode Shadowhunters!
