*My Thoughts*

🤔🤔🤔 Hmmm... I am still processing this. I'm not sure how to start. Well, I can say that I enjoyed this read. It felt slow to start, almost dragging, but it picked up as I continued turning the pages. It felt like a slow burn until I reached the end. I was getting the picture of this fantasy world that K.A. Linde intricately describes. And her character development was complex with multiple layers that had to be "peeled back" in order to "get to know" these characters.
The Affiliate contained various elements that created complex magical world. There was also a good amount of mystery and adventure to add to the fascinating plot. The romance, on the other hand, was subtle and almost underwhelming. At least, the romance did not take away from the magic, mystery, and adventure of the story. Fans of epic fantasies would enjoy enjoy "walking" in Cyrene's world.
All in all, The Affiliate is a fascinating and descriptive start to the Ascension series. I'm ready to read the next book, The Bound, to find out where Cyrene and her friends' journey takes them.
