Synopsis:
Piper Manning’s about as tough as they come, she’s had to be. She raised her siblings and they’ve thankfully flown the coop. All she has to do is finish fixing up the lake house her grandparents left her, sell it, and then she’s free.

When a massive storm hits, she runs into a tall, dark and brooding stranger, Camden Reid. There’s a spark there, one that shocks her. Surprising her further, her sister and brother return, each of them holding their own secrets. The smart move would be for Piper to ignore them all but Cam unleashes emotions deep inside of her that she can’t deny, making her yearn for something she doesn’t understand. And her siblings…well, they need each other.

Only when the secrets come out, it changes everything Piper thinks she knows about her family, herself…and Cam. Can she find a way to outrun the demons? The answer is closer than she thinks—just as the new life she craves may have already begun.

*My Thoughts*

Note: This review contains NO spoilers

I absolutely adore Jill's stories! Almost Just Friends is the third book by her that I have absolutely enjoyed reading. Just like Jill's other books, Almost Just Friends is an emotional and touching story of these characters' life journeys, especially with dealing in the complexities and complications of life and love. What I really loved about Jill's storytelling is the well balanced humor intertwined into these characters lives. Not only that, much of the individual stories of Jill's characters are relateable in one way or another. And, I'm sure that everyone who has read Jill's books would agree that the life journeys of these characters can be familiar to the lives of her readers.

Almost Just Friends is another standalone contemporary romance novel set in Wildstone where heart-felt and poignant stories of love and life is told with a touch of humor. Want those "heart-strings" pulled and laugh at the same time?!? Then, read Jill Shalvis' Almost Just Friends and all the other books in the Wildstone series.

Hmmm... Well, I will have to read Jill's other books as well. I am now a fan of Jill Shalvis and her books! And, I would have to say you will, too, once you start reading her books. 😁
