*My Reaction*

When news of a sequel of Independence Day was released, I was very excited on finding out what to expect in this next installment! Looks like some time has passed since the first film, and there has been some advancement with technology in regards to global defense. Most of the cast has returned to reprise their roles. We also see many new faces as well. The kids from the previous film are all grown up now.

This sequel looks like it will be another epic event movie! With just glimpses of what is to come in the film, it looks like it is going to be bigger with lots of action and effects. This trailer even revealed a small hint of what the story will be; however, it revealed very little in regards to character stories. Of course, Will Smith is nowhere to be found since he did not return for this sequel... even though he was a major character in the first film. That was somewhat disappointing that he didn't return. Of course, there will be some explanation as to why his character is not present in the sequel.

If you head to War of 1996, it will give a timeline (an interactive one at that) of what happened since the first invasion. The timeline also includes what happened to Col. Steven Hiller (Will Smith), just forward to 2007 to see the sad news as to the reason of his absence in this sequel.

So yeah, I am excited to see this film. I would like to see how much has developed since the first film, especially since a significant amount of years have passed.

Looks like 2016 will be a year filled amazing movies!
