Vampire Academy L.A. Premiere Fan Experience

February 4, 2014, on a clear Tuesday afternoon, my daughter, Mariah, and I made our way to L.A. for the Vampire Academy premiere! Thankfully, traffic was light; hence, we made it to the premiere venue with about one hour to spare! After exiting the freeway, Mariah and I noticed a line along the side wall of the Regal Cinema. Yes! Many Vampire Academy fans were in line with Gofobo passes to watch the movie with the cast! I even spotted a few friends who were lucky enough to snag tickets! Unfortunately, Mariah and I didn't have tickets, so we just enjoyed the fun at the fan barricade with the other many fans that awaited the arrival the cast members of this upcoming film. We will be able to watch it when it hits theaters Friday, February 7! We are so looking forward to it! Hence, the fan barricade experience!

We saw that a good amount of fans have gathered at the barricade that was set up earlier during the day. Mariah and I spotted several friends at different ends of the barricade. Many fans were waiting as early as the early morning hours! Now that's devoted fans! Moreover, the day before the premiere, several of the cast members participated in the Vampire Academy Mall Tour which made a stop at The Grove in L.A. Monday, 2/3, evening! Alas...another event I had to miss due to my job. But, I heard many fun details from several of my friends that attended...obviously an amazing event that I had no choice to miss out on...<sigh>. However, the premiere made up for that...haha!!

Although the evening was chilly, everyone endured the chill for a chance meeting with the amazing cast of Vampire Academy. As soon as the sun went down, the cast started to arrive! To kick off the festivities of this premiere night, Ellen K of KIIS FM hosted! As the cast and celebrity guests arrived, they each took the stage and chatted a bit with Ellen K.

What an amazing turn out! So many celebrity guests to share with the cast on the premiere of Vampire Academy! I was absolutely giddy with excitement...along with all the other fans that were witness to this fun event. Although Mariah doesn't show her excitement too often, I could tell that she was excited and had fun. As exciting as the watching the interviews live that wasn't the kicker that made it all too memorable! To add to this fan experience, several of the cast, namely Dominic Sherwood, Danila Kozlovsky, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, Sarah Hyland and Olga Kurylenko, walked out to the fan barricade to greet awaiting fans, sign Vampire Academy memorabilia and take photo ops with them!

To sum it all up...we left all too giddy with excitement! We got to greet these amazing actors up close and personal. Plus, many fans, including us, got posters, book and other memorabilia signed by them. But, before I bring this to a close, we even got a glimpse of Zoey and Danila getting up close and personal in a hug in celebration for their new film.

All in all, the trip out to Los Angeles for this premiere, like the other favorites of ours, was definitely a memorable fan experience. The fun, excitement and welcome atmosphere made it all too amazing!

THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: City of Bones Hollywood Premiere

The cast at the L.A. Premiere

August 12, 2013 was THE day for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Hollywood Premiere! And, we even camped out for this exciting event! We weren't alone either; several other fans camped out as we did just to be "front and center" to be able to catch a glimpse of the celebrities walking down the black carpet from the fan barricade...and, yay, we sure did! We even won tickets to watch with the cast!

Our tickets to watch the movie!

Let's start at the beginning of the day...since we camped out, we were already visited by Kevin Zegers and Jessica Postigo, that was an amazingly memorable experience. Well, as the day started, everyone that camped out started to clean up and get ready for the event. We noticed that more fans were coming out to line up for the premiere. We soon observed that they were setting up the barricades for the upcoming event. I then noticed that they DID set up a fan area! My excitement climbed a notch after seeing that. About noon, event security decided to give us tickets as line place holders, so that we can leave and do whatever we need to do before 4:30PM. They reminded us that we had to be back in line before then...before the event started. After we got our place holder tickets, we went back to the motel room where we freshened up for the evening's event! We were so excited that we got ready in no time flat...haha!!

When we returned to the Arclight theater, Cassandra, Mariah and I took our places in line with the others that camped out. Excitement among the fans in line started to escalate as time grew closer to the start of the black carpet event. About an hour before the arrival of guest celebrities, we instructed to procure our tickets at the "will call" table, and press had to line up, as well, to procure their press badges. Yay, Cassandra from The Mortal Minute and Tatiana from City of Shadowhunters for getting press!

Harald Zwart (director) & wife,
Velsemoy Ruud Zwart (co-executive producer)

As the guests started to arrive, Harald Zwart and Velsemoy Ruud Zwart were the first to come out to the fan area. They had just about the same excitement as the fans did! Harald and Velsemoy are such awesome people! How cool was that...they visited us while we camped out and even spent time with us in the fan area. They so rocked it that evening! Then, others followed to the fan area...OMG! It was one of the most amazing experiences that will be remembered for a long time to come! It was great! So many of the cast, crew and other guests came out and took their time with fans, including Jessica Postigo, Harry Von Gorkum, Aiden Turner, Jared Harris, Nathan Sykes (The Wanted) and, of course, our Shadowhunter Queen...Cassandra Clare! They are such amazing people! We had an absolutely exciting time at the fan area!

All the while, Cassandra and Tatiana were interviewing guests as they walked down the black carpet! As press, they were able to stand next to the black carpet and interview a few of the guests such as: Robert Kuzler (producer) and Jared Harris (Hodge Starkweather)...just to name a couple. How exciting was that! You go girls!

Our Shadowhunter Queen, Cassandra Clare

After the exciting rush of meeting a variety of celebrities at the fan area, we made a mad dash into the theater since the presentation of the film by Harald Zwart had already begun. We just made it in time to our seats before the movie started. We were ecstatic to be watching the movie before it is released on August 21, 2013! Woohoo!!! To be in the company of the cast, crew and other guests was nerve-wracking and exciting! Now, what I thought about the movie will have to wait...when I write up my review...haha! After the movie ended and the credits were rolling, Mariah did not want to leave! Yes, she definitely enjoyed the movie...but, I'm not going to go into details about the movie quite yet. As we were getting our things together to leave the theater, I noticed that Nathan Sykes was sitting a few rows behind us...Whoa! It was such an exciting experience.

As we made our way out of the theater, Mariah and I ran into Jessica Postigo! We were so in awe of the film that I was gushing! I just had to tell Jessica what we thought! She was so elated that we loved it! We then ran into the lovely ladies of Mundie Moms, Fangirlish and others before they left for the afterparty. I was able to get a photo op of the ladies that gave Mariah and I a chance to watch the movie that premiere night! A huge thank you to these ladies!

PACIFIC RIM L.A. Premiere: My Experience

On a hot and humid day, Mariah and I left Coachella for Los Angeles on July 9, 2013 to "fangirl" at the Pacific Rim L.A. Premiere at the Dolby Theatre in the Hollywood & Highland shopping mall. As we made our way through the mall, we noticed that barricades throughout the Dolby Theatre entrance towards the street.

We reached the fan barricades across the street from the Dolby Theatre and several fans already waiting for this exciting event to start. We even found fellow fangirls, Franceis and Cassandra, waiting for this exciting event to start. As for Cassandra, being at the fan barricades was a new experience for her. So, it was a load of fun hanging out at the premiere. However, it was also a hot day in Los Angeles, but with all the excitement, it made the waiting tolerable. We pretty much passed the time chatting about movies, books and events that we love and have attended. It was a day totally filled with a lot of laughs.

As the event began, the cast and other guests started to arrive.  The first cast member to arrive, and we had the pleasure of meeting was Max Martini!

Soon enough others arrived! A select few of the cast came out to the fan barricades to sign autographs for many waiting fans. The few that did make it across the street to the fans were Max Martini, Charlie Day, Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman...that's just to name the few that made it a wonderful day for several fans, me included.

I was in such awe as Ron Perlman made his way towards the fan barricades...AND, he went straight to where Mariah, Cassandra and I were waiting!!! He signed our poster first!<sigh>  Oh wow!! Can I fangirl now!!??!! I think the only thing holding me up, as I got weak in the knees, was the barricade....hahaha!!!

Ron Perlman walking out to the fans

They were amazingly gracious to come out to the fans. This is one of the best things about these exciting events. I don't know...it's almost hard to find the right words to express the fun and excitement of being at these premieres and meeting these amazing people that brings these awesome films for fans to enjoy!  So, I definitely imagine myself repeating "amazing" and "awesome" over and over again...as the best words that can describe the excitement that I and many other fans experience at these premieres.

After all that excitement and the cast and other guests entered the theatre to watch this amazing film, we decided to get a bite to eat while we waited for the cast to come out after the film. Luckily, we did decide to wait since we were able to get a few more signings from the Luu triplets (Lance Luu, Mark Luu & Charles Luu) and Robert Maillet. Yes, Robert Maillet who is also in the upcoming The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie!!! We were absolutely ecstatic about that!

Robert Maillet stopping by before heading to the afterparty!

This night was definitely star-studded!!! As we waited with other fans, I definitely spied several celebrities heading towards the afterparty like Cheech Marin and Ben Barnes...Wow!

All in all, we had loads of fun!!! We will definitely be looking forward to meeting up again at the next premiere...hahaha!!!
