*My Thoughts*
Note: This review contains NO spoilers
We are now into the third installment of the Ascension series. I have found that these characters have developed more and more with each installment. Hence, I continue to be "wowed" with K. A. Linde's ability to create this magical world with intriguing characters in an equally engrossing story. Moreover, The Consort has taken a more darker undertones in this storytelling. What I also enjoyed is that with each book, the story starts off where it left off in the previous book.
After two books, I felt that questions were answered, but then, more questions were asked. As for the various story subplots/arcs in this magical world, the connections were made in which it enhanced the flow and add to the whole.
The Consort has definitely left me breathless and in shock from all the twists and turns that K.A. Linde created in this series! I think my "jaw dropped" every time I finished each book! However, what irks me a bit is that... There is A LOT going on which doesn't bother me so much as long as the flow is cohesive and the connections come together clearly. But, yes, there is A LOT going on; however, do not let that deter you from reading this series. K.A. Linde's Ascension series is a VERY involved reading in which readers can get lost in this world she created. So... All in all, I continue to be blown away with amount of intricate storytelling in this fantasy series.
