Synopsis:
I wasn't supposed to fall in love with the nanny.

When my wife left, she took the illusion of happiness with her, and I've been caught in a free fall ever since. For nine long months, I've been fighting to figure out how to be a single dad, how to be alone.

For nine long months, I've been failing.

When Hannah walked through the door, I took my first breath since I'd found myself on my own. She slipped into our lives effortlessly, showing me what I've been missing all these years. Because Hannah made me smile when I thought I'd packed the notion of happiness away with my wedding album.

She was only supposed to be the nanny, but she's so much more.

The day my wife left should have been the worst day of my life, but it wasn't. It was when Hannah walked away, taking my heart with her.

**About the Author**
Staci Hart has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrpreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially i she's been drinking whiskey.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

*My Thoughts*

Note: This review contains NO spoilers

I am a sucker for some sweet romance with a little drama. Staci skillfully writes these characters with complex personalities which helped define their roles in this romance. A Little Too Late focuses on Charlie, a single dad, and Hannah, the new nanny. Both are broken from a marriage that ended and an employment that wasn't a good fit, respectively. They each have their own complications and dramas in life, but when Hannah enters Charlie's life, things change for the both of them...for the better professionally and romantically...ha! What started off as an employer/employee relationship turned out to be something much more and beautiful.

This is the first book I have read from Staci Hart, since meeting her at Authors in the OC in 2016, I've been looking for the right book to start reading that she has written since. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying her books aren't good since I haven't ready any yet... until now. I was drawn to this romance about a single parent. I loved the synopsis on how someone holding on by a thread trying to raise his children finds someone who turns out to be the right person for him and his children.

Anyways, I was completely drawn in to their compelling story. It was sweet and heartwarming. The characters were beautiful, yet complicated. Although their pasts played a role in how they dealt with circumstances in their lives, Charlie and Hannah seemed to have gotten a second chance in love and life. I enjoyed to see these characters' resilience in coming back from their bad pasts.

So... If you're a sucker for sweet romances with broken characters that have come around and found love and life, then A Little Too Late is must-read. What's a little complication in falling in love? Right! And, yup, I am a sucker for that...haha! Just as long as it is somewhat realistic... Right?!? Anyways, I also enjoyed that the romance was captivating and sexy, but not raunchy...haha! So, yeah, this was a read well worth the time.
