*My Reaction*

Hmmm... Fascinating! The CGI looks good, and somewhat realistic. The action and adventure looks epic and bold. There is the incredible casting... But, the cast is blindingly white when the film is about "Gods of Egypt"!?! Shouldn't the cast portray, realistically, Egyptians?!? Anyways, the trailer was filled with colorful and exciting action scenes which would make for a lively story.

Sooo... The trailer definitely grabbed my attention. It already had me at mythology...haha! Plus, leave it to the entertainment industry to glamorize the film with some big names in Hollywood... Gerard Butler (300Olympus Has Fallen) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of ThronesThe Other Woman), both amazing actors! But, alas, I already know I'm going to watch it... just because of the mythology theme. I am such a sucker for mythology/fantasy/paranormal themes. We will have to see what other teaser trailers are released...?

Divergent Character Posters

Exciting isn't it! A favorite YA novel has a film adaptation! Yes, Veronica Roth's novel Divergent has gotten a lot of attention. And, many fans are looking forward to seeing this movie...including me!

When the first Divergent teaser trailer was released...the excitement was overwhelming! I only know because several friends expressed their excitement and anticipation for this movie...since they read and loved the book! I, myself, thought the trailer was amazing...it definitely drew me in to the story. Alas, I still have to read the book...I will definitely read it before the movie is released!

Watch this teaser trailer!

Synopsis from Lionsgate
In a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities, Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it's too late.

And, recently, Divergent character posters were released.

Tris (Shailene Woodley)
Four (Theo James)
Tori (Maggie Q)
Max (Mekhi Phifer)
Eric (Jai Courtney)
Christina (Zoe Kravitz)
Peter (Miles Teller)

Here are the five factions!

I have seen several book to film adaptations recently, and each one has its own unique film interpretation of the book. With each film, there will be those that hated it and those that loved it. For those movies that I have watched AND read the book, I have enjoyed watching the book come alive. Granted there will always be slight changes, but as long as it works on the screen and is true to the essence of the story...I say that these movies are successful book to film adaptations.

And, as soon as I read Divergent, then watch the movie, I will probably watch another successful film interpretation of a popular YA novel. And, of course, I already like the several actors/actresses that have been cast in this movie...they are, after all, familiar names that star in my favorite television shows and/or movies. I am definitely looking forward to watching this!

TRAILER: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Synopsis

The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan) and thirteen dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost dwarf kingdom of Erebor.

I thought The Hobbit was beautiful, the cinematography was amazing. But, I felt it was slow...I think I almost fell asleep in the theater! Yikes! However, I did enjoy the movie...the storytelling flowed from scene to scene, and the actors did an outstanding job in bringing these characters to life. I do so enjoy watching Sir Ian McKellan portray the wizard, Gandalf the Gray. It's funny...now that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Adventure is on HBO and can be purchased on DVD/Blu-ray, I find myself watching it again...hahaha! Despite my first thought on it when I watched it in the theater, I am watching and enjoying the movie. Go figure...haha!

But, after watching the trailer for the second installment of The Hobbit movie, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, it looks like moviegoers, as well as myself, will be in for more adventure and action for this group of dwarves, a hobbit and a wizard as they continue on their quest to Erebor. Good thing the first film is showing on HBO, I will be ready to watch this second installment with having my memory refreshed with what happened in the first movie...haha!

Can anyone see any other actor/actress to portray Clary and Jace other than Lily Collins an Jamie Campbell Bower?? I can't. After watching the trailer, I was amazed at how much these two fit the characters so well...but, then, that's just me.  Everyone is going to have their own vision of who the wanted to portray these awesome characters from Cassandra Clare's novel, City of Bones. But, as far as I am concerned, the cast is perfect!!!

Jamie Campbell Bower as "Jace Wayland"
Then, soon to follow more character poster reveals of Simon (Robert Sheehan), Valentine (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and Magnus Bane (Godfrey Gao)!  Really!!! With each poster reveal, the excitement for the release of the film in August goes up a notch.  I don't think I can "sigh" enough when looking at these posters!

And, now, character posters of Alex and Isabelle Lightwood has been revealed...<gasp>.  The resemblance between Kevin Zegers and Jemima West portraying siblings in the film is quite uncanny...don't you think!!??!! Amazing!!!

Jemima West as "Isabelle Lightwood"
Kevin Zegers as "Alex Lightwood"
Now, seriously, aren't these character posters just fabulous and amazing!!??!!

Who's next to be revealed in a character poster? Will there be more? Or is this it for character poster!!??!! Maybe of Jocelyn (Lena Headey) or Luke (Aidan Turner)?  Or maybe a character poster for Hodge (Jared Harris)?  Hmmm... We will have to wait and see.
