Hmmm... 🤔 From what I read and gather, Discovery of the Five Senses is the first in The Urban Boys series. There's plenty happening that kept me turning the pages. This is an interesting tale of mystery, fantasy, paranormal, and action-filled teenage drama. The story also gives off a comic book superhero vibe.

The author wrote a riveting, unique, and entertaining story filled with engaging characters and a fascinating plot. With well developed characters, I think teenagers/young adults could relate to their every day routines and individual emotional dilemmas. The descriptive settings made for a mysterious and suspenseful atmosphere which added to the storytelling. The steady pacing of the story will entice readers to keep turning the page until the end. This story definitely had its fair share of secrets and revelations that made my "jaw drop." 🤯 It did make for intriguing twists in the story for all characters involved.

In regards to the fantasy/paranormal aspect, I thought the focus on the five senses was a fascinating approach that I found compelling in this storytelling. However, I would have like to know more on those "light beings" and its connections to the characters. I felt that what was revealed of these "light beings" was somewhat lacking. Other than that, of what was disclosed, I suppose it was enough needed for this story... for now.

All in all, Discovery of the Five Senses is a thrilling and dramatic start of a possible series for The Urban Boys. I would say that this is a poignant story of friendship, brotherhood, and family that readers young and old would enjoy reading and relate to. I definitely would like to see where the author goes with the following books in this series... It sure does look like there will be more adventures for these characters to come... This would be a good book to read.
