*My Thoughts*

Note: This review contains NO spoilers

Ummm... What can I say?!?! Benched.... Hmmm. 🤔 In two words, loved it! I enjoyed the setting and the characters. The story flowed smoothly, but, of course, these characters had their ups and downs... What do one expect from these college students in a college town with baseball as the "center of their universe." Haha! Anyways, I enjoyed how much of "family" was brought into the story. I can imagine various readers would be able to relate to any of these characters. That's what makes it so good! The realism that Sara brought on to these pages.

Moreover, I enjoyed the baseball aspect in the story as well. I am in no way a die-hard baseball fan, but Sara dives into the sport with a lot of love and appreciation for the sport. For those non-baseball people out there (I am one of them), Benched does give the reader(s) a glimpse of the sport and the people that love it. Believe me, baseball does not overshadow the story at all.

I am trying and thinking really hard to not say too much... that would lead to spoilers... Haha! And, I don't like ruining it for others. Anyways, if you are looking for a light-hearted and fun romance, then get Benched. Sara has written a well-balanced story of baseball, romance, family, and college life in her debut New Adult novel.
