About the Show
Supergirl is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El, Superman's (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities, and be the hero she was always meant to be.
Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents' help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret.
Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. She works alongside her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and famous photgrapher James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret ageny where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime.

*My Thoughts*
Now that J'onn J'onzz has been revealed, fear seems to be the main driving force for the investigation into the DEO. That common theme of "being afraid of the unknown" is evident in this episode, now that other aliens have made their presence known. All the while, Supergirl struggles with rebuilding the city's trust in her. On the CatCo-front, Siobhan is apparently a disgruntled ex-employee of Cat Grant. Well...she did brought it on herself.
Lucy Lane returns to aid in the investigation of J'onn J'onzz. Moreover, Lucy comes in with some resentment; hence, her indirect anger towards Supergirl/Kara and the DEO. As the investigation continues, the DEO staff has changed their attitude towards "Hank Henshaw." How easily all the good that has been accomplished is forgotten after true identities are revealed. Fear of the unknown alien overcomes logic. There's a lot of truth Kara said to Lucy, after revealing her true identity to her. This episode touched on a very real issue that happens in society all the time.
But, wow, what secrets that were revealed in this episode were in abundance! J'onn J'onzz reveals himself, Supergirl/Kara reveals her secret to Lucy, and Siobhan...is a banshee!?! Whoa! And the supervillains start coming out! This series is so gaining momentum...and it's exciting! For sure, Siobhan will show up again...but will she return as Siobhan, or as a supervillain?!? She definitely has it in for Kara/Supergirl!
True identities are not the only secrets revealed in this episode. It looks like Jeremiah Danvers may still be alive! Wow! Another subplot added to this exciting series, which will be intertwined with all the other subplots in one way or another.
Looks like this first season will be leaving fans with a possible clinching cliffhanger...haha! Well, that's just my guess...LOL! We will have to watch and see!
Until the next exciting episode!
For now, here's a preview at Episode 18 - "Worlds Finest"
