After hearing from reader/blogger friends about Marissa Meyer's The Lunar Chronicles, I knew I just had to meet this amazing author that wrote sci-fi twists to our classic fairy tales! Hence, we braved the rain, the cold and the traffic to hear Marissa Meyer speak about her writing, The Lunar Chronicles and fairy tales. Oh yeah! The road trip out to this event was well worth it!

The event was absolutely a fun and memorable treat! Marissa Meyer is an amazing speaker! I just love it that she's a proud nerd...yes, she's a nerd! She said it herself, she comes from a proud family of nerds!
Check out the video clips of the Q&A:
After the fun Q&A, our gracious host, the San Diego Public Library Foundation, held a raffle! Two winners won a book from The Lunar Chronicles, and the third winner won a Cress VIP swag bag! Woohoo! Congrats to the winners! The book signing followed soon after. Although the event was scheduled after business hours, the Library Shop made Marissa's books available for purchase for several fans that did not have the books....me included. All proceeds from this fun event benefitted the library.
