Welcome to the Official BLOG TOUR for Taking Something (#2 of the Give Me Something series) by Elizabeth Lee!
Genre:
New Adult Contemporary Romance
Series:
Give Me Something Series
Publish Date:
February 18, 2014
Synopsis:
I know what you're thinking. “You were such a jerk, Nick!” Believe me, I know I screwed up the best thing I had going in my life, but that was kind of my thing. I’d learned how to run cons before I could even form complete sentences, and I'd always been selfish. But I changed. Lila forgave me, my brother and I were getting along, and I was trying to make a name for myself in the music world.
At least that was what I was trying to do when I negotiated my way into the recording studio with pop superstar Sadie Sinclair. I thought it would be a piece of cake—charm my way into her heart and into her record label's good graces.
Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I got mixed up in a web of lies, manipulation, and deception. A web that had me questioning my motives and desires altogether.
Was the fame and fortune really worth the price?

*Interview with Elizabeth Lee*
- Thank you for taking the time for this interview! I thought we could start with all-too-common question, especially for readers who are new to your books, what inspired you to become a writer?
I don't know that I ever became a writer, I think I've just always was been one. As soon as I could put sentences together I started jotting down stories.
- What books/authors inspire you? Favorite books/authors?
There are so many! I love, love, love the NA staples, McGuire, Hoover and Glines. But there are so many talented writers out there that everyday I find a new one. I'm really digging what the Ritchie sisters are doing.
- What is your writing process: do you write when inspiration hits you or do you isolate yourself and write hours on end?
What's a process? Haha! I'm pretty chaotic with my writing, squeezing it in wherever and whenever I can. I also have a phone full of voice memos to remind me of my insanity.
- What do you do when/if you get stuck while writing?
I listen to music and clean. For some reason, Pine-Sol brings out my creativity!
- What is the best part of being a writer? And the worst?
Best... getting to create entire worlds of make believe. Worst... The anticipation of waiting for you book to upload.
- We're seeing a lot of the new term/genre "New Adult," in your opinion, what is the difference between YA and NA?
To me it's really the age of the characters. YA focuses on the age where characters are in high school and are still figuring out emotions, hormones, first loves, etc... In NA, the characters are a bit more mature and venturing out into the real world as adults for the first time.
- Tell us more about the Give Me Something series? Where did the inspiration/idea come from?
I'm pretty sure I was a criminal in a past life. Con Artists, mobsters and all around law breakers have always fascinated me. Lila is who I imagine I would be if I didn't have a conscience. Haha! There is something very intriguing about people who think they have no other option then to lie, cheat and steal.
- Which character(s) was your favorite to write? Are they from your imagination and/or based on people you know? Who was your hardest to write?
Hmmm... that's a tough one because they all hold a special place in my heart! My favorite was probably Nick. It was fun to get into his head for an entire book. He isn't specifically based on one person but he has some traits of people I know. The hardest character I've ever written is still being written! I'll have to tell you about him when that book releases!
- Which of your books was your favorite to write?
Storm Warning, because I got to write it with my BFF, Caisey Quinn!
- What are you currently working on? What can we, readers, expect in the near future?
I've got a couple irons in the fire, so to speak. I've got something a little dark planned for this Spring and I'm really excited to share it with everyone! Keep your eyes out!
- What books have you read and enjoyed recently?
I don't get a lot of time to just read so I try and pick out things I know I'll enjoy. Recently, I picked up Archer's Voice and Kiss the Sky. Both were awesome!
- When you're first book was published & hit the shelves, where were you and what was your reaction?
At home on the couch and I kind of felt like I was going to throw up. It was super scary to put my words out into the world for everyone to read, but it worked out pretty well!
- I have a lot of friends who are aspiring writers, what advice would you give them?
Do your research! There are lots of great resources out there for writers and lots of great people who are willing to offer their advice. It's a scary place to be alone.
Thank you again for taking the time for this interview.
Thank you so much for having me!

**About the Author**
Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird) I've spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.
Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany... I should write a book. And I did it! My first YA/New Adult novel, Shattered, is now available on B&N and Amazon!
If I"m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny one-year old, I'm probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I'm too old to watch them.
