But the sweet voice that interrupts his morning shower turns his world upside down. Compelled to find his shower songbird, he begins a search across campus. The only thing to distract him from this goal is his roommate's gorgeous girlfriend who's just arrived from L.A. - Ella Simmons.

*My Thoughts*

Note: This review contains no spoilers

Well... I loved the story! A story of unexpected love found in the most unique places...haha! I loved the well developed characters in this university setting. It's always scary to move to a new place, especially for new college student Ella. She's following her boyfriend's dream/plan for the future, but what she didn't expect is that she will be put to the test and soon well-made plans doesn't go as planned.

I loved how the story unraveled, especially that Ella learned more about herself as she opened up to new things and a new person...namely Cole...and learned more about herself. I could also say the same for Cole. All the characters developed and grew after each chapter...figuring out what they want in life. With love and support of "family" and friends, both Ella and Cole learned of the sacrifices that were made to find their happiness...and find that love that made their heart "zing."  The story was definitely not rushed, each chapter felt like a step that they each had to take to realize what their hearts most desired. It was very frustrating to see Ella in a relationship that didn't "fit" her. At some point, I was pretty frustrated with Ella for not standing up for herself with David...and how long it took her to realize it. But, in the end, Ella could no longer deny what her hear wanted.

I guess I could say I felt "proud" of Ella to finally taking that stand for herself, and taking that time to really find herself and figure out what she wants in her life. What I loved about Cole and Ella's story is that a lot of young adults and new adults alike can relate to situations like this...not exactly like it, but similar. It can be a scary thing to move to a new place, especially when going to college. To leave the comfort and security of home can be intimidating.

Fever is an amazing new adult contemporary romance that is filled with self realization, heartache, music, laughs, and undeniable romance that got me to tears in some parts. A story that I could not put down. In a sense, this novel felt like a coming-of-age story for Ella...for her to finally come into her own and the confidence to do it.
