*My Thoughts*

The point of view is that you are here for the monster fights and you wouldn’t be wrong in doing so. Godzilla vs Kong is visually stunning and entertaining. The fighting is elaborate with a sense of natural flow on either side of the battle. My favorite parts are Kong’s facial expressions. His face said everything that is needed without speech or even sign language. Things like sorrow, fear, and rage are easily interpreted. Godzilla reminds me of one giant cat, one that is tired of humanity’s shit but puts up with it anyway because he’s the only one allowed to be the best Titan. But the visuals were the only good thing about the movie. The plot is predictable simply from viewing the trailers and there is little to no character development throughout the one hundred and fifty-three-minute movie. If anything else came out of Godzilla vs Kong, it is that this movie opens a doorway to a new Kong universe to explore.

**My Thoughts**

I have always been a fan of big monster movies, all the way to when I was a child. Oh yeah! King Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, etc.... you name it, those classic big monster movies, and I'm pretty sure I have watched those movies through the years. I really enjoyed the different views on these monster stories. So, I finally watched this latest Kong movie, AND I am finally writing out my thoughts on it.

This latest movie feels like an "origins" movies since this "scientific expedition explores an uncharted island... Yep! This island has remained hidden from man for years, unless they accidentally stumble upon it, such as the "prologue" of this movie reveals. This expedition starts off well enough until they get to the island. They soon realize that monsters do exist. From then on until the end, they fight to survive on an island of monsters. However, which monsters are the ones that they need to fight off to survive?

I thought the cast was fantastic. The character development was adequate enough to get that realism. They made their ordeal and struggle to survive realistic on an imaginative island. Their interactions with these monsters was believable...considering these monsters were CGI created...haha!!! Anyways, I thought their world building/story setting was well done. The once commonality that these Kong movies have is that Kong is portrayed as a protector. Yes, Kong was/is the good guy in this movie. The film also delivers the idea of Man's arrogance of being superior...yes, I am saying it. It seems to take on the man vs. nature concept to a monster level...hahaha!! Well, it is always interesting when films subtly intertwine real world issues into the plot. Moreover, I did like the subtlety in their approach on telling this story. And, the action/fight scenes were played out and choreographed well. I even enjoyed the touching and heartwarming end of this movie.

Now, sometimes, when there is a "prologue" in a movie, sometimes, there is an "epilogue" in the form of an after credit scene. And, this movie has it! It is an interesting scene. It definitely sets up the concept that these big monsters are alive and well in this same world. Huh... A possible Kong and Godzilla crossover?!? Hmmm... Maybe we will see all those other monsters make their appearance in other future monster films?!? Well, we will have to wait and see if we will see today's take on these monster classics. So...Yah, this take on King Kong has a lot of room for more storylines.

There ya go! My thoughts, as a fangirl, on Kong: Skull Island. 😊

**My Thoughts**

Note: This review contains no spoilers

So we finally got to see Godzilla, and I was not disappointed. We absolutely loved it! I really liked that it wasn't just a big monster movie full of destruction, chaos and mayhem. Not at all, this film had a story to tell that went beyond a monster movie. Not only did we learn the story, or origin, of Godzilla and the MUTOs, we also had the character stories that intertwined with the appearance of these creatures. Granted that there has been a lot of mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed this take of a classic creature feature that I grew up watching. This film pays homage to a classic that many fans have grew up watching. This film stayed true to the Godzilla character as Toho's iconic Godzilla that I grew up watching. I found it interesting that the film was filled with metaphors for: the dangers of nuclear weapons/waste, the need for balance in nature, and humanity.

I was not dissatisfied at all that there wasn't as much Godzilla face time on sreen, but the build up to the confrontation of Godzilla and the MUTOs was awesome! This film is not just about giant creatures battling it out, there is a story to tell. In regards to the actual monsters fighting, I was blown away...felt like I was a kid again watching those classic Godzilla movies...to the very end!

So classic when Godzilla walks back into the ocean! So, don't let those bad reviews deter you from watching a movie that focuses more on the characters...which includes Godzilla (he is, after all, the BIG character in this movie...haha). There is a story unfolding in this movie, and this is just the beginning. I am definitely excited for a sequel!

Godzilla is definitely a "must see" for it's excellent story/plot with some monster action and great cast.

Check out the amazing posters!

Whoa! Just like the first one, 300, the visuals is amazing and, yup, just like it was stated above...breathtaking! 300 was amazing with it's action and cinematography. And, from the looks of these trailers, this next film will have same. I am absolutely stoked that many roles are being reprised by the original actors/actresses from the first film. That's always a plus for me. And, have you check out the posters....Whoa! Oh yeah, they are ready for battle. All of these posters are visually stunning, evoking that battle-ready, ready to die feeling...hahaha!

It's always interesting to watch the various adaptations...some good and some bad ones. Either way, I end up watching these various adaptations. I already know that I will be watching this, especially with the amazing cast and crew who are involved with this film. With this trailer alone, I am liking what I see.
