About the Show
Based on the wildly popular comic book series Hellblazer from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan, "Criminal Minds") is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. He fights the good fight - or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he's decided to abandon his campaign against evil until a series of events thrusts him back into the fray, and he'll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line, Constantine will use his skills to travel the country, find the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows... maybe there's hope for him and his soul after all.
The cast also includes Harold Perrineau (Lost) as Manny and Charles Halford (True Detective) as Chas. Angélica Celaya as Zed Martin. Writer Daniel Cerone (The Mentalist, Dexter) serves as executive producer with David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Rises). Constantine is produced from Bonanza Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The show is based upon characters published by DC Entertainment.

*My Thoughts*
This was an interesting twist of events in the finale of Season 1. I really like how the various characters and subplots come around tying episodes and storylines together, especially when more revelations of each case leads Constantine and friends closer to the "rising darkness", in this case, the Brujeria. Although it is still a mystery, each case John investigates brings him closer to the evil he is constantly battling.
This time, John and Zed is called upon for help on a few child abductions by Detective John Corrigan...if we recall in a few episodes back, Zed had a vision of his death. Hmmm... Always interesting when Manny makes his appearance, especially now that Zed can see him now. While John and friends investigate another abduction, Papa Midnite has plans of his own...regarding a bounty on John's head.
With the elements of suspense and mystery, John and friends races against time to save a little girl. All the while more pieces of the puzzle are revealed, especially coming from Manny...all he does is talk in riddles. However, this time, Manny is straight up with Papa Midnite. Huh... if that's not a cliffhanger...then what is!?!
My jaw definitely dropped with this revelation. Whoa! Well, John was warned that someone close to him, someone he trusts, will betray him. Wow! This first season was absolutely riveting, suspenseful, and mysterious. Of course, with the elements of horror and the supernatural so intricately intertwined, the story flowed giving viewers that hear-pounding and gasping breath moments that keeps us watching. I absolutely love the cast...love the character development, as well as how the storylines progressed.
I sincerely hope that this series does not get cancelled.
