The only girl I could ever love.
She is light. I am darkness. She is innocent. I’ve done too much. She is good. I am bad. She is my every dream. I should be her every nightmare.
We come from different worlds. She’s…perfect. And I’m… Not. Somehow she wants me anyway. So we’ll grasp at what we can. We’re going to make this summer count. She’s my secret. And I’m hers. The problem with secrets is they never last for long. And when others discover we’re together, they’ll do whatever it takes to keep us apart.
All I know is: I won’t let them. Because Reverie Hale? She’s mine.

*My Thoughts*
Note: This review contains no spoilers
A story of young love of two people from two different worlds. Nick has a dark past that he wants to put behind him; and, Reverie is that innocent and sheltered young lady wanting so much to experience life. This is another contemporary telling of a "Romeo & Juliet" story, told in Nick's and Reverie's point of view (POV)....but leaning more on Nick.
Monica Murphy told a touching story of two people from two different worlds coming together...despite all the forces that wants to keep them apart. Nick and Reverie still finds a way to be together. Reverie's character is set to such a high "pedestal" that Nick feels that he isn't worthy to have her love and attention. In this sweeping tale of forbidden love filled with obstacles and forces working against them, they find a way to be together...be it in secret, they still find a way. I loved that Reverie's POV is told in the form as diary entries. It gave me the feeling of what she is feeling and thinking after each encounter with Nick.
Although the story was interesting enough that had it's own mysteries to be solved, it was somewhat predictable and filled with clichés. Although the story did seem slow, the cliffhanger did make me gasp. After all that they went through, and still is, the story ends in a cliffhanger!!??!! Really!?! Guess I will have to wait for the next book to find out what happens next in this love story of Nick and Reverie. Moreover, I think that anyone who enjoys a story of "forbidden" young love will enjoy this book.
